For all those who are interested in orders, medals and decorationes I had created a new website dealing with modern and acient "non governmental decorationes".
The science of decorations (phaleristics) commonly refers to decorations and titles given by a Sovereign or a State or a part of a state (like provinces, cities, ministeries, army etc.) but this in my opinion is a narrow-minded view of todays reality. Today the majority of the awarded and worn decorations come from a huge number of different private organizations, clubs, associations, fraternal , brotherhood and other societies. To find and describe such decorations and to prepare their history, their terms of award and their appearance to interested visitors is the aim of this web site.
There is no question that this site will be never finished and will grow and grow permanentely. For the first time it is only in German language but for the future English translationes of all articles are planed. Every kind of support by information-material and pictures are welcomed.
Glenn was so kind to set a link to my new page at our LINK-page - which, by the way, should be more often visited to see what's new there! The adress of my new website is:
www.ordenskunde.info
I hope you like the information there...
Best wishes, Jrg
