A biography of a related kurhessian Colonel by the name of Normann says that he was in austrian GARDE-CAVALRY. 			<description><![CDATA[ Prior to Erzherzog Karl's reforms around 1808, a large proportion of Austrian artillery was parcelled out as 'regimental' or 'battalion' guns.  These were crewed by infantrymen supported by trained artillerists.  However, every account I have read differs with respect to the allocation of these weapons, e.g. number and weight of guns.  I had hoped the recent Osprey Vanguard title would clear up the matter, but it has only added another version.  I am fully aware that the allocation varied... ]]></description>
