I have two quick questions:




1.) Does anyone have a list of dates of the Regimentsgedenktagen for k.u.k. IR. 84-101?




2.) I have somewhere in my stash an official regimental document from 1916, where it says that the regiment was awarded the laurel wreath (Lorbeerkranz) for his successfull and heroic performance in the Tyrol offensive 1916. What exactly does this mean? I mean was this
merely a symbolic award or did it... ]]>

I remember we were having a very productive discussion about a year ago about the number of Golde Bravery Medals and other decorations awarded per individual
Austro-Hungarian infantry regiments during World War I (1914-1918) and I remember expressing my profound amazement at the time about the number of GTMs
received by the k.u.k. IR.16 from Warasdin. I was playing with some statistic since then and here is one interesting figure that I have come upon since then.

I have been doing a lot of research about the Eastern campaign of 1914 for a while now, but i have come across several difficulties regarding the Austrian
casualty figures during that period.




First of all, there are stated two figures for the total amount of losses during the first five months, one of 994,883 (from Österreich-Ungarns letzter Krieg

I have had the attached portrait for a number of years and only recently the friend of a friend in London identified the uniform as that of the Arcièren
Leibgarde. 




My question is this:  Might you folks be able, thru examination of the style of the uniform, be able to fix on an approximate date for the portrait?
